Healthy Caffeine-free Diet Frappe (recipe)

It’s summer here in the sunny Balkans and the temperatures are rising quickly and mercilessly!

Yeah, it would be very nice if we could just get the whole season off and spend it on the beach with a nice cocktail and lots and lots of melons!

But here we are, most of us working at our jobs and trying to survive the hot summer with drinks on the rocks and ice cold fruits!

And I decided to share with you my new favorite summer drink – the Caffeine-free Diet Frappe! Most people like toning their bodies and minds during the summer with a nice cold instant coffee frappe. But I ditched the caffeine long ago and never looked back! My reasons were numerous, starting with being too stressed and anxious and having a long-term issue with IBS. But this is a story for another time.

Caffeine-free Diet Frappe

Ingredients:

3 tsps. Instant chicory extract
1/2 cup Cold organic milk (or nut milk if you wish to make the vegan version)
1/2 cup Cold filtered water (here is the activated charcoal pitcher I use)
3-4 Ice cubes
2-3 Tbsps. Coconut cream (optional)
1 Tbsp. Maple syrup, honey, or coconut sugar (optional)

Instructions:

The preparation of this recipe is ridiculously easy!
Mix the chicory extract with the milk in a large glass. Stir the mixture with a frappe machine. If you do not have one, do not worry – use a blender instead!
When the chicory is completely dissolved and blended, add the water and continue to stir. At this point you can add the coconut sugar if you desire, especially if you are using nut milk – it will need some sweetness, which vegan milks naturally do not have.
When you get some nice foam at the top of the glass, the diet frappe is ready! Add the ice cubes, stir with a spoon and cover with the coconut cream (if desired).

Chicory coffee can be an excellent addition to any healthy weight-loss diet plan! It has diuretic properties and stimulates the fat burning process. Combined with a proper meal plan and some exercises, chicory can help you shred that annoying extra weight!
