Gluten-free Strawberry Pudding Recipe
Love pudding? Don’t know about you but I am a huge fan of it! They are usually very easy to make and super delicious.
But, sadly, the store-bought ones are not very healthy. What a shocker! 😀
Commercial puddings are usually packed with starches, white sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors, colors, etc. These are definitely not the best ingredients for our bodies!
Starches often contain gluten and we know what happens when we overindulge with this wheat protein! Bloating, gut inflammation, irregular bowel movement, mood swings, and so on and so on. You can learn all about the discomforts gluten can cause right here (even if you think you don’t gave gluten sensitivity!)
Even if the pudding contains gluten-free starches (like corn or potato, for example) it is still a form of carbohydrates which is quickly absorbed by our bodies raising the blood sugar level and the insulin. Now that’s fattening!
Speaking of weight gain, white sugar is the other main culprit for it. And most commercial pudding powder mixes have it in large amounts! Ugh!
So, how can we enjoy a cup of this nice creamy substance without all this junk?
My solution is very simple – I present to you my favorite healthy gluten-free strawberry pudding recipe!
This one is special because it’s a little unorthodox. If you peek at the ingredients you might be quite surprised! I mean cream cheese and sour cream for a dessert? But bear with me! Once you try this strawberry pudding recipe, you will be delighted!
It has its distinct dairy taste but enhanced with some of my favorite fruit flavors – strawberries and pears! And the texture is… mmmmmm…
I can’t begin to tell you how awesome this dessert it!
The cream cheese and the sour cream supply our bodies with healthy fats and essential amino acids. These make this strawberry pudding recipe perfect for those who wish to drop a few pounds, especially after a workout! You know this is the ideal moment to take some additional proteins and healthy carbs!
Speaking of carbs, we have some excellent sources of these important macro-nutrients – fruits and a little bit of honey. The strawberries and the pear are perfect for supplying fiber which slows down the abortion of the fructose. On the other hand, honey is awesome for its numerous health benefits with its amazing nutritional value, anti-septic, and immune-boosting properties.
But, if you wish to make this low carb, you can swap the bee product with your favorite keto sweetener – stevia, erythritol, xylithol, monk’s fruit extract, etc.
Oh, and finally, not to mention the benefits of gelatin! This ingredient is perfect for strengthening the connective tissues improving our joint mobility, skin elasticity, and protects the gut mucosa against micro-injuries and inflammation. How cool is that?!
Oh, and one last thing!
