Protein Keto Cake (Protein Low Carb Cake)
Are you trying to shed some extra fat following the keto diet but you are craving something sweet to indulge your taste buds?
BTW, if you wish to learn more about the low carb diet itself and all of its wonderful benefits, you can read my testimonial on the Dr.Axe website:
I Tried Keto for 30 Days — Here’s What Happened
Fear not! This protein keto cake comes to the rescue with merely 4 grams of natural sugars per a 100-gram serving! WOW!
“How can we achieve these numbers?”, you might ask.
Here’s the deal – in today’s low carb desserts recipe, I will be using several key component which are 100% keto-friendly and super healthy.
The first one is something, I believe, every healthy diet plan should include – cottage cheese. It is packed with so many essential nutrients, proteins, minerals, and vitamins. And the best part is – it contains low amounts of carbs which makes it perfect for this protein low carb cake!
I would like to make a note, though. Most cottage cheese products on the market contain salt and that might not be the best option for a dessert recipe. So, try to find an unsalted version, like this one, for example.
If you can’t, you can always make it on your own at home – the process is very simple and easy. And it is even easier with a special cottage cheese making kit, like this one right here. You will find the full instructions in the video below:
Also, a really cool thing I want to mention here, which is not related to this recipe at all, but I think it deserves some attention is the magical benefit of cottage cheese as a tonsillitis remedy! Yup! It’s tried and tested. You can read all about it right here:
Natural Swollen Tonsils Remedies (+ Purulent Tonsillitis)
Now, another awesome ingredient which makes this keto cake a little tastier is the keto-friendly sweetener erythrithol. Of course, you can use whatever sugar substitute you prefer – stevia, monk fruit extract, xylithol, etc. I have described all of their pro’s and con’s in my upcoming book on healthy weight-loss using the low carb diet plan, specially designed for women. Alrighty, what else do we have here?
As usual on the keto diet and the low carb dessert recipes – we will be using coconut flour, coconut butter, and eggs – they will add more healthy fats, proteins, and micro-elements to the mix!
Finally – the top of the iceberg – we have the best keto-approved fruits – strawberries and blueberries. Should you have any other low carb berries at your disposal (raspberries, blackberries, red currant, mulberries, etc.), you can absolutely include them!
And you know what – using these precious fruits in our tasty protein keto dessert is a wonderful way to make a diet-friendly patriotic dessert for your 4th July celebration! Cool, huh?!
Now let’s get to the recipe! Happy baking!
