This article series will give you some interesting information you can use to find a much more suitable career choice (if you are unhappy with your current one or if you are just starting out) and improving your social and material status!

Here’s my process of analyzing the best career potential in the natal chart:

  1. Take a look at your natal chart. If you do not have one already, here are the detailed instructions how to create one FREE of charge! => Astrology Career Guidance (DIY Astrology Free Career Report)
  2. Check which zodiac sign is placed on the cusp of your Midheaven (also known as MH or Medium Coeli or MC);
  3. Check the ruler of your Midheaven and in which house it is placed.

If you are not sure what to look for, here is a nifty list of the signs and their rulers:

  • Mars is the ruler of Aries (♂) and a natural governor of the first house (the Ascendant);
  • Venus is the ruler of Taurus (♀) and a natural governor of the second house;
  • Mercury is the ruler of Gemini (☿) and a natural governor of the third house
  • Moon is the ruler of Cancer (☽) and a natural governor of the fourth house
  • Sun is the ruler of Leo (☉)and a natural governor of the fifth house;
  • Mercury is the ruler of Virgo (☿) and a natural governor of the sixth house;
  • Venus is the ruler of Libra (♀) and a natural governor of the seventh house;
  • Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio (♇) and a natural governor of the eighth house;
  • Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius (♃) and a natural governor of the ninth house;
  • Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn (♄) and a natural governor of the tenth house;
  • Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius (♅) and a natural governor of the eleventh house;
  • Neptune is the ruler of Pisces (♆) and a natural governor of the twelfth house.

Here’s an example, if Pisces is on the cusp of your Midheaven (the tenth house), you have to check the position of Neptune in your natal chart and the house it is placed in. In the picture below you will see how Neptune (lord of the 10th house) is placed in the third house in the birth chart (which is also our topic today).

What is Midheaven in astrology and how it can help us with our career?

The Medium Coeli point in astrology is also called Midheaven (a.k.a. MC or MH) and it is the highest point in our natal charts. It can show our highest expression and our best potential for success. The Medium Coeli’s natural zodiac sign is Capricorn and its lord is Saturn (usually considered to be the strongest malefic planet in the zodiac). This means that our tenth astrological house is related to the typical traits of the Capricorn sign, its ruler (Saturn),  and the areas it governs – honor, career choices and work environment, our drive and ambition, our social status, and highest achievements

Moreover, tenth house is astrology signifies one of the parents who is considered to be the head of the family (usually that’s the father) and everything connected to our reputation, our ambition for achievements and a better social status, entrepreneurship and business, our employers, and the government.

The tenth house is also where we can see our professional potential and our best career choices which may help us achieve a better material status, and the reputation we gain over the years (especially in the work place and in society in general).

Note that our Medium Coeli’s natural lord is Saturn, and in most cases, we can express and develop ourselves in the areas of the tenth house after the age of 30 when we experience our first Saturn revolution). You can read more on this topic HERE.

What does the Midheaven lord in third house in astrology mean?

Before we continue, you can start by checking the zodiac sign which is at the cusp of your Midheaven and read the information related to this position. All the articles on this topic are right HERE.

So, today’s focus is the tenth astrological house’s ruler “siting” in the third house of the natal chart. What does that mean and how it relates to the person’s career choices and professional development?

To achieve this, we need to take a look at the 3rd astrological house – its characteristics and the area of our lives which it governs.

The third house in astrology is represented by Gemini and is naturally ruled by Mercury. What does that mean?

When we look at the 3rd house we have to think of the areas of:

Communication – how we communicate with others, how we speak and write, what language and words we use, our ability to communicate with the environment and with other people;

Siblings – the third house is the house of our brothers and sisters and our relationship with them;

Traveling – this house shows our ability to travel to short distances as opposed to the 9th house where we see long-distance trips, traveling, studying or living abroad;

Mindset – Mercury and Gemini represent our mentality and intellect – how we think, our ability to absorb and understand new concepts, and also – our adaptability to new circumstances;

Education – the third house is where we see our education – this is our primary and rudimentary knowledge, as opposed (again) to the ninth house where we find our college and university degrees.

Business – the third astrological house is also linked to all kinds of entrepreneurial endeavors since Mercury is a fast-moving planet which represents adaptability, mobility, and freedom. All of these are connected to business and self-employment, especially if the area of the company is related to communication, technology, writing, and traveling.

Hands – Gemini governs our hands and our ability to use them, so the third house is where we see all kinds of technologies which require the use of our limbs like mechanical work and writing.

How can we connect these areas to the tenth house?

How does that influence our natural abilities and our best career choices?

Well, it is quite obvious – if you have your tenth house lord in the third house, you may be more inclined to work in any type of area where communication is a key component! This is a great placement for writers, public speakers, teachers (especially in primary school), copywriters, lecturers, public relations specialists, online content creators, sales people and marketers, media specialists, news reporters, all jobs and professions dealing data and information, etc.

Tenth house ruler in the third house could also signify an inclination for being an entrepreneur where you need to exert adaptability and fast thinking (especially if this is a form of a local venue in your own neighborhood). This is especially true if you have a joint business with your siblings.

This astrological placement can also give you the drive to be mobile in every sense of the word – having a desk job may not be the best option if you have a strong need for change and a variety of experiences. So, a travelling agent, a sales representative or simply a being a driver (something as simple as being a taxi driver where you can show your mastery in communication can give you immense satisfaction!) are all suitable professions for you!

Think about all the professions that require the extensive use of our hands such as being a mechanic, a craftsman, or a conductor (especially if there are lots of planets in watery sign which are connected to music).

Acting can also be a good career choice for those with their Midheaven lord in the 3rd house since this is another type of communication – playing a role is a form of connecting the audience to certain life issues, experiences, and ideas. That’s especially true if Leo is at the cusp of the tenth house and the Sun is placed in the third house.

Are you still confused? Here’s how to make the best career choice!

If you are regular follower of this blog, you probably noticed that I am huge proponent of a relatively new self-development and self-discovery system called Human Design! And the main reason why I am raving about it is that it had made a huge difference in my life (not just in the realm of career). That’s because Human Design is the art of making the right choices!

To me, this system is a wonderful holistic combination of classic astrology, the I Ching system, genetics, Quantum Physics, Spirituality, the law of attraction and the art of manifesting, etc.

But do not worry if this sounds like too much – this system is not just some theory which describes your unique personality just for the sake of curiosity! Human design is a highly practical knowledge for making the best decisions in all areas – all kinds of relationships we have (with our spouses, business associates, colleagues, friends, relatives etc.), personal and company finances, professional career development, eating and sleeping habits, how to manage our physical and mental energy, love etc. It is absolutely astonishing what Human Design can do for you!

Stop comparing your unique self to others! Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses! Stop doubting yourself and start living to best of your potential! Be your own self, be your own authority, and express yourself to the fullest!

You can also check some beginner (or intermediate) books to get you started on the system, such as the Human design bible by Lynda Bunnell which is co-authored with Ra Uru Hu (the creator of the system himself)  or the works published by Karen Curry are also great to start with! Fort his purpose I have created a detailed collection of the best books you can grab today and start your human design experiment (as I mentioned earlier, this is not just some theory – this is practical knowledge we can experiment with!) => Best Human Design Books to Read Today
