Doing positive affirmations is a wonderful way to start changing your life and make beneficial shifts in your mindset. However, many people struggle with them and don’t know how to make them work for their benefit. In many cases, there are even negative outcomes of repeating these mantras. So, how come affirmations don’t seem to work sometimes? And how to make the necessary changes?
In my opinion, the biggest mistake when doing this practice is choosing a mantra that radically contradicts your core beliefs. This means that every time you say something so far away from your current reality that your whole being “screams” that this is a lie. And the result is… more negativity, frustration, and disappointment. Because what actually manifests is the negative vibration that the “lie” creates in the body.
So, how to overcome this issue? Very simple – choose an affirmation that feels good until you get to a better vibrational state to change it into the desired outcome. There needs to be something that you can get behind when repeating the mantra. Play around with different words and go around the subject to find the sweet spot of the perfect affirmation for that moment.
Here is an example! Instead of saying “I am rich.” if you still don’t believe this statement, try saying “I am worthy of all good things to come into my life.” Or “I am opening myself to the best ideas and pathways to abundance and success.” You get the point!
